SOMETHING OLD
I am sure y'all have heard a brides wearing "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue". And I just think this old tradition is a keeper (if you ask me!). It's a sweet little gesture that every bride should consider on her wedding day.
Today I am going to focus on something old. I think this is the most sentimental of the four. For those of you who haven't heard of wearing something old for your wedding, it's basically a way to wear something from your family heritage (normally received from your grandmother). It's especially meaningful if a particular item coming from a departed loved. It's a great way to feel connected to your family.
Something old is not something the bride should buy! It is passed down from the people you hold so close. I am a sappy girl (I admit it, I love this stuff!), so this is my favorite tradition that I will be wearing on my wedding day.
Just to give you some ideas of what you could wear for something old: typically brides will wear their grandmothers necklace, a ring, a pearl necklace, a handkerchief, or a broach. It really has no limits what it can be!! It should be something that is special to you and your loved ones.
