It's safe to say I am obsessed with my FitBit. It really started this past week, when I entered a competition with a few of my cousins. Needless to say my competitive nature kicked in (Not that I thought it was gone forever, it just was temporarily misplaced after I stopped playing lacrosse freshmen year). Anyways, it was nice to see that fire is still in there somewhere. I walked over 15,000 steps daily for the majority of the week! My FitBit has me watching my steps. And it got me thinking...
ONE STEP AT A TIME
ONE STEP AT A TIME
...Thinking about how life is challenging. Full of choices. Especially now as I am trying to figure out, just what I am doing with my life. My life!!! It seems a bit scary, but then I try to look at it in strides. One step, even. How each little step counts. And, that somehow helps make it all seem a little less frightening.
I have grown so much in the past four years away at college, but it didn't just happen over night. One step. No matter how tiny. Has pushed me to where I am today. To who I am today. One step, is all it takes. And if that step takes you somewhere you don't like? Take another (better) step. Keep moving, it'll all be alright.
TAKE A STEP
No matter how small. Take a step. To make yourself better. Just keep moving, you'll get there. The key is to make little decisions, little steps, in the right direction. Go grab a coffee with an old friend. Spend your morning applying to jobs. Take ten minutes to meditate. Journal your thoughts. Call your mom. Send a thank you note. Eat a nutritious breakfast. Listen to your favorite playlist to get your day off to a good start. It's the little things that make up the big ones. Each. Step. Counts. Believe it.
So, take a step. One step can lead to 15,000 in one day! It seems so impossible when you think of that big number. So take it one step. One day. One moment, at a time. You'll make mistakes, but that's okay. You'll learn a lot. You'll grow. You'll get better. So keep stepping. One. Step. At. A. Time.
