And... it's Monday. It seems to creep up on us every week, ha! I am back in the swing of things, despite the disaster aftermath that still surrounds the city. We are still under a water advisory, but classes are back in session.
At first I was shocked. How could we just go back to normal? After the lives lost and homes ruined, it seems insensitive. But, then it got me thinking. If we just stopped living after every disaster (big or small), we would be stagnant. And that certainly is not a way to live.
LIFE GOES ON

LIFE GOES ON
Life goes on. It sounds terrible when you're already knocked down, but it's reality. It's important to put that into perspective. The world keeps turning, so now what?
Maybe you just ended a nine year relationship with your high school sweetheart. Or you tanked that job interview you were counting on. Or were so wrapped up with your life, you forgot about your best friend's birthday. These are all disasters in their own way. And you know what I can guarantee from all of these? Life goes on.
It's about figuring out what to do, to fix it, that takes a little more ambition. You could just sit there, wallow, and feel sorry for yourself (hey, we've all been there). Or you could realize that won't fix anything. What's done is done. Now what?
So what you hit a bump in the road? Keep moving. Be better. Move forward. Just because you stop, doesn't mean the world will. So go out and mingle. Or say your sorry to your friend, maybe more than once. Apply for another job. And stop beating yourself up. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride. And sometimes you have to ask for help. And that's okay.
We have to remember something: Life goes on. It's what we decide after those disasters that makes us who we are.
