There are so many gifts to give when you are apart of a wedding. It can be stressful to pick out what to purchase. To please the newly weds. To feel proud of what you give. Normally when I am on the hunt for a gift, I lean towards the things I love. I, of course, tailor the gift to each person (their likes and dislikes) but my rule of thumb is if I like it (and have their taste in the back of my mind), chances are they will too.
With wedding gifts it's not always that simple. The bride normally registers gifts she wants to get. You, would think this would make life easier. And it should. But for some reason, we (myself included) want to give something we picked out. Have the ah-ha factor. And I understand that 100%, but there is a reason why they chose those items. The upside? You are guaranteed to make the bride (and groom.. sort of) happy with anything on that list.
The good news is there are many opportunities to give gifts. Engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party, the wedding itself... I could go on. But keep in mind they want what is on the list! So unless you know their style extremely well, stick to the list for the most part.
One thing (in my humble opinion) that anyone can use it white kitchenware. It goes with everything. Yes. The bride (in my experience grooms could pretty much care less ha!) can choose an accent color they love. I love red, so here is a cute idea for gifts for someone who has red china. The white adds a fresh looking touch. Don't you think? I think this is perfect for my future kitchen.

I. Love. This. What do you think of an accent color paired with white kitchenware?
